researchers screened 18 benzoxazinoids and found seven (BOA, MBOA, DIBOA, DIMBOA) strongly suppress Nitrosomonas europaea; BNI wheat lines with a Leymus racemosus fragment inhibited nitrification up to two-fold more than the parent.
