EcoOils Group
For over 40 years, EcoOils has been at the forefront of repurposing spent bleaching earth, a solid waste of vegetable oil industry. We have footprints in Malaysia and Indonesia, the two significant vegetable oil producing countries. The recycled outputs are feedstock for hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), green diesel, green construction and soil conditioning material.
Profile
EcoOils Sdn Bhd/“EcoOils Group” is a Malaysia- and Indonesia-based waste oil recycling and biofuels feedstock manufacturer that repurposes spent bleaching earth (SBEO) into ISCC-certified feedstocks using recycling/processing technology to reduce landfill waste and produce low-carbon fuel inputs. Its core outputs include spent bleaching earth oil (SBEO oil) and other bio-related/derived materials such as Eco-Processed Pozzolan (EPP), a cement replacement made by calcining pozzolanic minerals from bleaching earth. It was established more than 40 years ago, and its Malaysia main office is in Pasir Gudang, Johor. Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd acquired 100% of EcoOils in November 2022. Reported scale includes ~360 staff, ~80 suppliers, and five plants with capacity ~65 kilotonnes/year of SBEO oil. Latest (through 2025–2026): the sources do not describe new developments beyond the 2022 acquisition, but the company is still active (EMIS profile updated January 28, 2026). Sources:.
