Profile

Wakao Foods is an India-based food manufacturing brand that processes raw jackfruit sourced from Indian farms into ready-to-cook, shelf-stable jackfruit “meat” alternatives (vacuum-packed; no refrigeration needed; no preservatives/artificial additives), designed for home kitchens, restaurants/hotels, and export. Core products include Raw Jack (pulled jackfruit) plus items such as burger patties and sausages (e.g., American Herbs/Hot & Spicy) and other ready-to-cook SKUs; it also has a Goa “Wakao Khao” cloud kitchen/flagship outlet launched in 2025. Funding/ownership: it appeared on Shark Tank India Season 1 and secured ₹75 lakh from sharks Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, and Ghazal Alagh (reported deal terms vary by source); no stock listing/investors beyond that are stated. Scale: reported exports to multiple countries (e.g., Netherlands, Dubai, Norway, Singapore, Canada, USA) and presence in 22+ cities; offline stores/restaurant partnerships are reported around ~27–30 partnerships/stores and later 500+ restaurants (exact reconciliation not provided). Latest 2025–2026 development: WakaoKhao launched Jul 2025 and flagship opened Oct 2025; sources do not indicate closure, so it appears active in 2025.
