How this reference is made
Scope, authorship, review status and sourcing of the science reference — stated plainly, including its limits.
What it is#
An explanatory reference: for each technology in the catalogue, one page on why it works — mechanism, the physics and biology that constrain it, what is genuinely difficult, and where the field disagrees with itself. Three pages are about the field as a whole (this one, the introduction to the bioeconomy and the carbon-cycle primer). The pages follow the same sector and cluster tree as the technology dossiers, and each page links to the dossier on the same subject.
How the pages were written#
The pages were drafted with an AI language model in August–September 2026, under written rules: explain mechanisms rather than markets; no supplier rankings, prices or market sizes; no invented citations, figures, dates or standard numbers; state a disagreement and what it turns on instead of picking a side; say when a figure is modelled rather than measured. They were moved to this site on 18 October 2026 at the same addresses, with internal links checked and without editorial rewriting.
What has not been done yet#
- No per-claim references. The pages do not cite a source for each statement. Figures in them are approximate ranges from the scientific literature as drafted, and should be checked against the primary source before you rely on them.
- No expert review yet. The pages have not been reviewed one by one by a subject expert. Until a page is marked as reviewed, treat it as orientation, not as a citable source.
Where the evidence is#
Each technology dossier lists its sources one per organisation, classed as research, official or a producer’s own site, with the date each was last checked, together with the technology’s maturity. That is the place to start when you need evidence; this reference is the place to understand the mechanism behind it.
Independence#
The reference does not recommend suppliers. Bioecon’s paid services and any fees from suppliers are disclosed on the services page and do not change what these pages say.
Errors#
If something is wrong, tell us: corrections are made openly and listed in the corrections log.
Languages#
The reference is published in Russian and English, at the same address in both. There is no Chinese version yet.
