What changes this industry: bio-solutions with evidence, technologies, suppliers and open money.
Overview of the industry
These articles cover dangerous chemicals and drugs used in fish and shrimp farming, and the proven biological or bioeconomy alternatives to them.
Veterinary medicines, biocides and feed additives must be used under veterinary supervision and according to national registration (in Russia: the Rosselkhoznadzor registers). Doses are examples, not prescriptions.

| ID | Problem → alternative | Replaces | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|

Reviewed but SKIPPED (no proven bio-alternative)#
| Substance / use | Hazard | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Copper-oxide antifouling on nets (tributyltin, TBT, is banned) | Copper accumulation in sediments, toxicity to invertebrates | Alternatives are mechanical (in-situ net washing) and non-biocidal coatings, not bioeconomy; biological antifouling is research only |
| Copper sulfate as a pond algicide | Copper toxicity, sediment accumulation | Barley-straw and similar “bio” methods have inconsistent evidence; manage nutrients (feed, aeration) instead |
| Hydrogen peroxide / freshwater / thermal delousing | Welfare, not chemical toxicity | Physical methods; see F02 for prevention |
| Chloramphenicol, nitrofurans, malachite green | Prohibited | Enforcement issue; see F01, F03 for legal prevention |
