Overview of the industry

Synthetic food additives with regulatory or consumer problems (azo dyes and their EU warning label, suspended E171, artificial sweeteners, BHA/BHT), paired with fermentation- and algae-derived alternatives already produced at scale.

Food additives require authorization (EU E-number system; in Russia/EAEU: TR CU 029/2012). The articles are overviews, not regulatory or formulation advice.

Distinct from postrawfood (chemicals applied after harvest to raw food): this collection is about ingredients inside formulated food and feed. Built with a direct join to the 1,320-company vendor index: ≈170 active companies in the colour/sweetener/vitamin/yeast/organic-acid clusters.
