Multimodal clinical decision-support systems are computer-aided information systems that analyse medical knowledge and patient information to give multi-form assistance for clinical decisions. They replace traditional systems that rely on a single data type, which are limited in predictive accuracy and coverage. A multimodal CDSS project was approved under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan in late 2024, with plans to scale to 100 large tertiary hospitals.
